the mermaids of weeki wachee/an announcement.

well, *sigh*, it's that month. it's April. Addison and I have been talking about April for a long time now as this kind of "of-in-the-distance" fake month. its the month of big change for us. because back in November we signed an end of lease agreement for April 29th, saying that if something didn't come along in Florida to keep us here, it was time to move on. well, my friends, it looks like The Lord has something in store for us in Utah. while i am sad to see our Florida/Disney adventure coming to a close (like, really sad) i am really looking forward to so many things back home. i actually kind of feel selfish to have this little Alfie-man all to myself, with no adoring grandparent, sisters, cousins, etc to love on him. i have so many mixed feelings. here in Florida, we have had the most job/financial security of our entire marriage. it's gonna be hard to let go of that, especially with no firm prospects in Utah as of yet. every time we tried to work things out to stay in Florida, things just haven't come easy-they haven't flowed as they always have for us. throughout our marriage we have felt guided every step of the way. we know that if we try and do this our own way we will fail, but if we have a righteous desire and are not afraid to work hard, The Lord will prepare a way for us, far greater than the one we'd imagined.

so, in an effort to soak up every inch of our last days in Florida, we have been taking adventures. local restaraunts, novelties, beaches-all the things we can't enjoy once we leave this glorious place, we are trying to fit in to these last few weeks.

something that i've wanted to do since we moved here is go and see the real mermaids of Weeki Wachee. Weeki Wachee is a natural spring about 2 hours from Orlando. this crystal blue water is pristine and gorgeous and always 74 degrees-the perfect place to find real live mermaids. the mermaids do shows in their underwater theatre, where you can see them breathing, eating, drinking, dancing, singing-you get the picture. we went last week, and i was truly in HEAVEN.
 Ursula-The Little Mermaid
 Ariel and Eric
 Pulling out my inner mermaid.
 my merbaby.
merdad.

seriously, though. one of the coolest things i've ever done. i was giddy! if you live in or are visiting Orlando-GO :)

I know it's so selfish of me, but I am so excited for you to be coming back! We have missed our Welches so dearly, and I can't wait to meet little Alfie. I hope your last month is all that you want it to be and more. Love and miss you guy!
