Snow Day

Hope you're all staying safe this crazy snow day!
Wednesday night, we were preparing for the next days' make-up class. We were babysitting, and my brother and sister-in-law came home shocked to see me gluing bright orange hair to Addison's face.
Just doing homework!
Here are some pictures for the day:
 "Two-face".
 "Kiss"?
 Disney Villian.
 "Mad-hatter".
I love that boy.

Have a happy 3 day weekend!
And don't forget, "you're all happenin' in far out ways."
(We're watching the Brady Bunch Movie)

My food dilemma

So, now two months into married life, I get asked all the time, "so how's married life?" And honestly? I have no complaints! Addison and I's biggest problem is making food for two. We went grocery shopping a couple weeks after we were married, and wandered around unsuccessful. We finally went home and decided we had to do some research. It sounds so silly! But we've both been brainstorming inexpensive, healthy meal ideas for only two. It is harder than you think! This last trip to the grocery store, we experimented. Maybe a little more than we should have.
But yesterday I think we succeeded :)
Addison and I crafted the perfect meal.
We started off with salad, with balsamic and olive oil for dressing (thank you for the advice biggest loser) with roma tomatoes.
We sauteed our frozen chicken to go into our food storage rice-a-roni :)
And then because I was feeling extra crafty, I made chocolate milk. Grains, vegetables, meat, fruit (crazins in the salad), and dairy! It was delicious. Huzzah, I feel like such a good wifey.

"We're artsy! Of course we can cook!"

PS-Any recipes for us to try? I'm beggin!

So here's what happened today in the exciting life of a theatre student. My dear husband did my make-up this morning. The assignment was a fantasy/historical character. Can you guess who I am?
Here's some other favorites of ours.
"Mystique"-from X-men. It looked AWESOME onstage.
"Princess Unicorn"-from the office.
Her catch-phrase is:"My horn can pierce the sky..."
Ha! I love my life.

Happy Val's Day!

We are back! Here's a few pics from our adventure to LA.
We are absolutely convinced we stayed in the hotel that inspired Tower of Terror. The lobby music, the architecture, built in 1928. It was called the Millennium Biltmore, and it was the home of the Oscars for the 1st ten years they were held. Pretty cool atmosphere they had set up!

Getting ready to perform in our Irene Ryan round! We performed a scene from, South Pacific and got GREAT feedback, it was wonderful!
This was the best thing I've ever tried. Ever. It was a place called Pinkberry-and it surpasses all frozen yogurt places either Addison and I have had-Spoon Me, Yogurt Stop, Orange Leaf, etc...
Ever in CA-please go for me!

1st time going to Hollywood for me! Huzzah!

The Chinese Theatre.
So we are finally home after a horrific bus ride.

Our Val's day has been perfect-what's funny is that it hasn't been much different from any other day in our marriage. We celebrate our love everyday! Addison woke me up with a wonderful card this morning, he surprised me with happy flowers this afternoon, and two bars of Ghiradelli tonight :) After a fun family dinner/game night with Add's family, we are wrapping up the night with a tradition from last year: watching a movie in a fort with snacks. Tonight's movie is my Val's gift to Addison-The Princess and the Frog.

We are wishing you all a Happy Love Day!

Off to LA in the morn

What an interesting semester Add and I have had this semester. Hopefully things will cool down a bit after this week...then on to earning lots of moola for London! Ha...say goodbye to all our savings! But we just closed a show, "Anything Goes", on Saturday-Addison (the lead) was incredible, and just got better and better with every night! We are on crew for a show going to ACTF-a college theatre festival, being held in LA this year! So we leave on a very long bus ride at 7 in the morning-wish us luck! I also have the opportunity to compete at the festival for an Irene Ryan Scholarship. I was nominated for "Five Carols For Christmas" back in November. As cool of an opportunity as it is, it's not just a walk in the park. You prepare 3 rounds of material (Although, most do not make it to the 2nd round). You have a partner for the first two rounds (mine of course is Addison), and the last round is a monologue. One scene may be a music scene, so we are doing South Pacific of course :) (my dream role) So as great as 70 degree weather will be this week, it comes with a lot of work.

But we are excited for the adventure.
Here's some more pics from the wedding...
My beautiful, lovely, perfect, scrumptious twenty dollar cake! I adore it.
 The nummy hot chocolate bar.
The perfect wedding shoes, next to the most wonderfully made (by a 90 year old) bouquet. Hooray for Skyline Flowers-I will recommend them till the day I die!

We really did have a homemade wedding. Addison and Momma Melinda handmade each of these boutineers-customized for each guy!
DIVINE mints with our initials! Our thank you on the way out.
My bridesmaids all had different peacock hairpins :)

Addison and I designed our centerpieces ourselves...we just kind of put all the things we loved together in a collection of vases (found at the DI, Taipan, All-A-Dollar...wherever!) The windmills are compliments of my sista Kirsten-they really added the splash of color they needed!
YUM-always have Kneaders cater. They're awesome, and ever-delectable.
These were originally ducks, but we asked Kneaders to make some birds...with some kind of peacock splash-they took that and ran with it. Go Mason.

Bon Voyage till next week!

could've danced all night

The next portion of the wedding pictures is dancing
I really could have danced the entire night, that was one of the things Add and I were absolutely adamant about having at the reception, and we had a blast! I wish we could have had even more time.
We started off with the daddy-daughter dance. ("Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"-Ella Fitzgerald)
Melinda, threatening Addison to not make her cry :) love my momma melinda!
Addison stole me from my daddy.
Obviously, it was off the hook.

"Baby, You've Got What it Takes"-Michael Buble'

Classic.

Wedding Formals

We are finally getting some more pictures up! These are some of the formals family/friend pictures we took when we got to the beautiful reception center! We had our reception at Le Jardin-a greenhouse in Sandy, and didn't even really know how gorgeous it was going to be until we saw it in it's full glory that night, complete with jazz music and twinkle lights.
 The new Welch Family

 The Welch girls!
 My sylin' new brothers.
