Christmas 2010

Hey- Addison here. I just had the BEST Christmas of my life!
Being married is my favorite thing EVER.
People kept saying that we wouldn't have any presents because it's our first Christmas- but They were wrong.  We had all of our wedding presents to open, our family and friends were so generous!
And anyways
All I wanted for Christmas was Bre.
We decided to make homemade christmas presents for eachother. Bre sewed two stockings for us to have the rest of our lives.  And I painted her a picture of us holding hands.

I spent Christmas with my in-laws.  We slept there Christmas eve.
I always thought this would be awkward, But it was great! I love my in-laws.  Bre and I rocked long-john pajamas to celebrate the holiday in style.
Being Married is the best- I love it- I love my wife. She makes life the best! I'm excited to spend a million more Christmases with her!

Well, dear friends and family, we are back! We apologize for the long hiatus in posting. We had an incredible time in DISNEYLAND and can't believe we've already been married for 2.5 weeks! It's been the best 2.5 weeks of my life, and the absolute best Christmas

Here are some pics of our adventures.
On the way to the temple, I found this heart in Parley's canyon. It was a sign that it would be the absolute perfect day that it was.

We got these totally rad pins, and everyone told us congratulations all day.
The castle got lit up in Christmas lights every night and it was breathtaking!

Toy Story Mania! The newest and most awesome ride-we highly recommend it ;)
Tower of Terror-twice in a row, thank you please!

We got a little rain on the last two days-but we got these stylin' ponchos, and great crowd control.
Dinner at the Blue Bayou-something both of us have always wanted to do. Plus a great recommendation from Jim Christian-the "mint julep". Very tasty! Thank you!
Huzzah for married life-we love it!

Almost there!

Wow, how time is flying! There is less than 3 days left until the biggest change in Addison and I's life takes place. I officially can say I've checked everything on my list-though I'm sure in the next couple days I will figure out a few more things to add. I got my endowments out of the Draper temple on Tuesday-and it was incredible with all my family, Addison, and his parents! I loved it. We finished show rehearsals Wednesday and our finals on Thursday. We went to a midnight showing of Narnia last night for our last date night before the big day-and Eustus was the bomb.

Here's what else we've been up to:

Addison and I picked up our marriage license!

Last Saturday I had the most wonderful Bachelorette party! It was such a blast, and I have the greatest friends in the world. Thank you so much Mickey and Liz!
My parents live in Heber, and in Midway they have interfaith/international Creche exhibit that is absolutely gorgeous, and a must for every year at Christmas. Here are some of my favorites:
This local family wanted to have a non-commercial Christmas-so they used objects from a hike they went on to make this nativity!
After much begging...we decided to do this....

This one was carved on the end of a match! You had to view it through a magnifying glass.

From Japan-made from oragami.

Made from recycled newspaper.

In other news-Addison and I put up our Christmas tree in Gramma and Grampa's basement :)
I moved in a bunch of my stuff today so that it'll be ready when we get back.
We're almost there!

Happy December! (month we get marriaged!)

Well the wedding prep is pretty much done! Just a few small details (like getting pretty wedding gloves to keep me from freezing) left! We had two wedding showers on Saturday, and it was overwelming to say the least! But mostly overwelming how generous family is. It was just incredible! We are so thankful.

Here we are at the first shower at my cousin's house :)
Then afterwards, we had a wonderful shower at my sister, Kirsten's new home. After a long day, Addison and I were caught "canoodling" while watching Modern Family.

12 more days!
PS...we got the marriage license today. huzzah!

"the only true gift is a kiss for christmas"

Happy Thanksgiving!
So while driving home from the festivities of the day, I was (finally) listening to Christmas music. It's become a little tradition of my brother's to create an amalgamation of indie/unknown christmas tunes each year, and this year he did quite well. This music got me all nostalgic after dropping off Addi, and passing the signs, I started to ponder about the first time I passed those signs looking for Weber State campus, and how hopelessly lost I became. I wonder how many times since then I've passed those signs, and how that audition and choosing WSU has impacted my life since. Well, thinking mostly the about best change it's brought : Addi. If you haven't heard about our fist meeting at a WSU bus stop, you've missed out! I'm so grateful for him. He still loves me when I'm grumpy! What a find... :)

This is a song from my brother a couple years ago, that still remains my favorite.

Anyway, we had a wonderful day with the Briggs clan. Delicious, chaotic, and warm-we had a blast. We finished off the day with 19 of us invading the Heber theatre. We saw tangled in 3D and loved it, and we're both not even fans of 3D! We recommend it.

bundled up

ha, so right now, I am home alone. I am fully decked in boots, a sweatshirt, a coat, a scarf, and a hat. School/rehearsals were canceled due to this death storm...and right now I feel like those kids in the movies. Down in their underground shelter beneath the barn to escape the "twister" (think wizard of oz....or the village) waiting for the eye of the storm to find them! It's terribly exciting. It wouldn't have been had I been stuck in it, but since I'm not, I'm kinda giddy :)

Anyway! Down to business: I need your help. So since Add and I are going to be newlyweds for Christmas, we decided that if would be greatly romantic (ok maybe that was just me) and financially responsible of us to make our christmas gifts for each other. While this all sounded like a great idea, now I'm starting to remember how crafty my fiance' is...and that he may be getting a rotten deal out of all of this. ha! Who has ideas!? Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated.
I hope you are all home and safe, curled up with some cocoa tonight.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Anyone else seeing Tangled?

Why, hello

So, confession: I have always wanted to start a blog. Yet, I have always thought that I wouldn't have enough to say, and maybe when I got married I'd have more to say? Ha, maybe that was just a cop out. But today, years later, I find myself just 3 short weeks away from marriage to the most wonderful man I've ever met.

His name is Addi, I love him dearly and this is our blog :) It's almost as if we've claimed a little bit of the universe for our own.

Addison and I get married on December 13th at 10:20 am. I am incredibly excited and can't remember when the time has ever flown by so quickly! Turns out my mother (who is an absolute pro at weddings after planning 5!), Momma Melinda (future in-law) Add, and I are quite the team when it comes to planning. Seriously, we had this thing planned weeks ago, and now we're just working out a couple deats.

So this week on the wedding checklist:
                        -send out invites (they're done!)
                        -get our wedding license
-fill some picture frames for centerpieces
-get some final alterations done on my dress

Wish me luck! loves
